Welcome back! I hope you have all had a restful summer and are excited to be starting the new school year.
As a new teacher to Bethersden Primary School, I could not have received a warmer welcome from the members of Deer Class when we met in July.
We have an exciting year of learning planned, and I cannot wait to get started!
Our topic for the next two terms is ‘Mythology’. We will be exploring a range of Myths and Legends both in our English lessons and Wider Learning. A specific focus will be placed on Greek Myths and Hawaiian Mythology, where we will use a range of Art, Design Technology and Geographical skills to enhance our learning. This will link with our Science learning, about rocks and soil.
Home Learning will take the form of a must do and should do task for English and Mathematics learning. In addition, some weeks there may be an additional could do task which will be linked to our topic learning. I would love to see any additional learning your child completes at home to further their understanding of Mythology.
Where possible, it would be hugely beneficial to your child’s learning if they were able to read aloud, discuss and share their reading book with you, helping with their word reading and comprehension skills.
