Welcome to Deer Class, here we will give you an insight into life in our Year 3 classroom, including all the things we have been learning about and enjoying. Please find below links to support learning, as well as useful class information.
Our topic for the next two terms is ‘Journeys’. We will begin by exploring our own local area of Bethersden, inspired by the book Where My Wellies Take Me. Here we will be learning important geographical skills, such as map reading, as well as taking our own journey around the village. I wonder where our wellies will take us? As we move through the term, we will look further afield, learning about journeys from around the world, such as Sinbad the Sailor, and the journeys of tribal people in Africa.
Home Learning will take the form of a Must Do and Should Do task for English and Mathematics learning. Additionally, there will be a Could Do task, which will be linked to our topic learning. I would love to see any additional learning your child completes at home to further their understanding of Journeys.
Where possible, it would be hugely beneficial to your child’s learning if they were able to read aloud, discuss and share their reading book with you, helping with their word reading and comprehension skills.
Please continue to practise the x2,5,10 tables. In Year 3, we will be learning the x3,4,8 tables.

P.E – Wednesday please ensure your child has their P.E kit in school so they are able to fully participate in our lesson. Children must be able to remove their own earrings or they must have micropore tape provided from home.
