E-Safety

In today’s world everyone, both parents and children, are using technology in the form of computers, tablets, smart phones, games consoles and many other devices. As these are all able to connect to the internet we must know the implications and possible dangers that are open to us and the children.

Online Safety encompasses Internet technologies and electronic communications such as mobile phones, collaboration tools (use of chat rooms, video conferencing and Blogs) and personal publishing (awareness of the level of personal data that you should record and publish, both about yourself and others). It highlights the need to educate pupils about the benefits and risks of using technology and provides safeguards and awareness for users to enable them to control their online experience.

At Bethersden Primary School we address online safety for a term within our Computing Curriculum.  We also reinforce the key points through all our computing lessons.
