A child should be able to go to school and feel safe so that they can achieve their very best.
What should I do if I am worried about a child?
If you have concerns about a child’s welfare you have a duty to report your concerns. The concerns may well be about one incident or concerns that you have in general.
Your concerns can be reported in two ways:-
- Ask at the school office to speak with Ms Heaton (Headteacher), who is the school’s designated child protection officer and safeguarding lead. Ms Heaton or any member of the safeguarding team can also be contacted on 01233 820479 or safeguarding@bethersden.kent.sch.uk
- If you feel unable to approach the school about your concerns, you should report them to Children’s Services by calling 03000 411111 (out of hours 03000419191. This can be done anonymously if you are worried about disclosing your identity.
