Headteacher’s welcome

Thank you for taking the interest in the website of Bethersden Primary School where I have the privilege of being the Headteacher. We are a school Dedicated to Excellence where every member of our school is supported to achieve their goals and to challenge themselves to have high aspirations for the future.

We are a small village primary school with 6 wonderful classes but with plans to grow. We have a fantastic team of teachers and Learning Support Assistants who are highly skilled in providing a challenging and relevant curriculum. We also have a friendly and welcoming supporting team from the office through to the caretaker who strive to provide us with an environment we can all be proud of.

Set in beautiful grounds with a mixture of Victorian and modern buildings we are fortunate to have lots of outdoor space in which we can learn. We have a large field and wooded area where we can explore the natural world first hand. We are also developing our garden area with a range of plants and structures to attract even more local wildlife.

From each child’s earliest day at Bethersden they become part of a truly special family. We have an active School Council who meet regularly with myself to share their ideas about developing the school further. We have a team of highly dedicated governors who support the school in setting challenging goals for the future of the school. We encourage parents to work with us in partnership and we have a thriving Friends’ Association  (FOBS) whose members work extremely hard to raise money and to provide a whole range of social events for parents and children.

We are starting to reach out further into the local community and enjoy links with the local church and tennis club to enrich the opportunities we provide for our children and families.
