Welcome to the governor section of the Bethersden school website.
Bethersden governors are a group of volunteers made up of parents, community members, teachers and other school staff. We work individually and in groups focusing on all aspects of school life. Our role as governors is to hold the school, led by the Headteacher, to account for the School Improvement Plan; to ensure the school’s budget is allocated fairly and all monies are spent with due diligence, and to agree and monitor all of the school’s policies.
This year we have decided that each class will have a governor representative, to act as an advocate for the members of that class, to support them and to be included in class events and to get to know the staff and children.
If you have any questions about governance at Bethersden, would like to consider becoming a governor or just fancy a chat about Bethersden School life from the perspective of governance, please feel free to email me … or you can often find me at the gate in the morning.
