Trip to the post office
Following our first trip of the year to Kench Hill, we all wrote our own letters to say thank you for such a lovely day. We took a trip to the post office to send these over.
Dear Hedgehog Parents
Thank you to everyone who came along to our books and biscuits afternoon yesterday. It was so lovely to see you all. Thank you also for all your lovely comments. We are very proud of how well all our hedgehogs have settled into year one, and we are so pleased with our classroom outdoor learning space.
A couple of people asked me about the red celebration journals that went home during transition week. These are books to record each child’s celebrations during their time in year 1. The plan was to start these off during term one and get lots of ‘proud moments’ recorded. Due to Mrs Swann going on maternity leave sooner than we thought, this hasn’t been a priority and we apologise for that. Over the next term we will get these journals up and running! Home Learning is sent home in the plastic wallets and is totally separate from the journal.
Just to clarify, the class are now being taught by Mrs Grace and Mrs Green. Mrs Grace will teach Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Mrs Green will teach Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday. Miss Finn will be supporting every morning
We have been very fortunate with the weather so far this Autumn. But it will soon change! We want the children to be able to use the outside space all year round so we kindly ask that you provide your child with wet weather gear (wellies, waterproofs, maybe a change of clothes) to enable this, thank you to everyone who has already done this.
Please feel free to come and see a member of the team any time.
The Hedgehog squad
Reading at home is hugely beneficial to your children. We will be changing reading books in Hedgehog class every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We ask that children bring in their reading records daily.
P.E – ON Thursdays –
PLEASE HAVE YOUR PE KIT.
Earrings must able to be removed by the children themselves or they must have micropore tape provided from home.
We plan on getting outside as much as we can this year with our learning, what ever the weather and ask that all children bring in wellies and a waterproof jacket.
