School Council

Bethersden School Council has now met twice and it is wonderful to see the children’s confidence grow as they begin to understand their role further. We have extended our School council to include children from Year R and 1 and they have been happy to share ideas in the last meeting.

Meeting Overviews

Meeting 1 – November 2022 – The school council met to think of questions that they would like to ask a potential new Head Teacher. I was very impressed at the range of questions that they produced. These have been sent to Governors and will be used as part of the Interview process.

Meeting 2 – Wednesday 4th January 2022 – The school council met on the first day of term as we were keen to get started on some ideas! Our focus for this meeting was to think about something at our school that the children can improve or change. The school council have already thought of some excellent ideas – but they are now going to meet with their classes to gather their thoughts. We will then look at these in the next meeting and decide on one to focus on.

Next meeting – Wednesday 25th January 2023 – 11.30

Our School Council for 2022-2023 as elected by their peers is:

Year R -Evie and Brodie

Year 1 – Autumn and Sam

Year 2 – Ava and Alex

Year 3 – Sophie and Mya

Year 4 – Shawn and Annabelle

Year 5 – Indie-Rae and Owen

Year 6 – Joshua and Max
