Welcome all to the brand new Bumblebee class web page. This year in Bumblebee class we have a mixture of both reception and year 1 children. Having both year groups together provides the children with an even broader and richer learning experience. The year 1 children will be able to enjoy and benefit from a child lead and child centred learning experience and the reception children will be exposed to subjects and curriculum opportunities to further develop their own foundation stage opportunities and knowledge.
Reading Writing Excellence
We are proud to share with you that our own phonics scheme that is tailored to the learning needs of our children at Bethersden School has once again begun for another exciting year filled with many writing and reading opportunities designed to encourage children to be passionate and confident authors and readers. In Bumblebee class we aim to provide memorable and special learning opportunities for all children. In addition to this we are passionate about fostering and providing an education that nurtures and develops children with a ‘whole child approach’. Ensuring children have a balanced education in all areas of learning and ensuring that all areas of learning are equally celebrated and valued.
At Bethersden we follow the mathematics scheme Power Maths. Power Maths encourages hands on practical maths experiences alongside the use of high quality maths talk to develop understanding and problem solving skills for real life maths.
In Bumblebee class we believe in the importance of providing maths learning experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. There is maths all around us and we enjoy embracing this no matter the weather. we also love to deepen our maths knowledge through a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, mark making, treasure hunting and nature walks.
