At Bethersden school, we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children.
This term our PE provision will be enriched by the support of various local organisations. Bethersden Tennis club will be teaching Chestnut class. Premier Sport will be providing invaluable CPD opportunities for our staff as well as inspiring lessons in Athletics and Rounders to Beech and Ash class, respectively. As a member of the Tenterden Rural Alliance we are also pleased to have the support of Homewood school in providing rare opportunities to use specialist spaces and equipment. Homewood will be providing multi skills lessons to Oak class this term. Six lucky children from year 3 and 4 will also be participating in Homewood’s ‘Wednesday Leagues.’ These are focused weekly sessions which develop skills in particular sporting areas; this term will be trampolining.
We also have a number of after school clubs running next term, including: KS1 multi skills, KS2 football, and KS1/2 gymnastics.
